How We Got Started

As a Labor & Delivery nurse since 2003 & working many of those years as a registry RN, I’ve had the opportunity to work at many different hospitals. What I’ve seen is an inconsistency between hospitals when it came to the portion of their bereavement programs where the hospital provides the mother with a keepsake box to take home in honor of her baby.

Some hospitals have large elaborate programs & it isn’t difficult to gather items to give. Whereas other hospitals have very little to nothing to give the grieving mother & her family. Whether it is from a lack of coordination, availability or affordability, there is nothing to give. As a caregiver I empathize with my patients & it makes me sad when I have to discharge a woman home with no baby & no keepsakes. So, I created Angel Baby Keepsakes to make it affordable for hospitals, easier for caregivers, & comforting for the grieving families. It is our hope that every woman who experiences such a loss will receive a Baby Memorial Keepsake Box regardless of the size of a hospital‘s bereavement program or its budget.
